Triple Belt Dryers

Drying materials or products accounts for a major portion of the operating costs of process engineering or processing units.

The triple-belt dryer for the ventilation of dry goods is known as a system which dries large mass flows gently, and is also very energy-efficient. This is based on its specific air flow which enables both low air temperatures as well as the loading of the drying air with relatively high levels of humidity.

The triple-belt dryer itself comprises an inlet area, a drying zone, a cooling zone and an outlet area (see illustration). Its design is based on a modular concept. This facilitates subsequent modernisation or expansion.

Air Supply

An air circulation system (see illustration below) with powerful axial fans provides intensive air circulation.

The even distribution of dry air over the width of the belt is ensured by special structures beneath the fans. The dry air flows through the three belts which are stacked on top of each other before finally being passed through a separate side shaft and thus passing several times through the circuit.
