Hydrocyclones for Classification

Application in the particle size range from 0.2 mm down to 5 microns:

• Single stage classification generates two fractions.

• The arrangement of several stages is used for the recovery of more than two fractions or, with intermediate circulation, for the increase of the sharpness.

• Application also for the production of the materials with predetermined maximum screen residues and/or minimum content of fines.

• Yet another application can be the fractionation when splitting into product streams for various post-connected processes.

Examples:

• Iron ore concentrates (from magnetic separation or flotation)

• Foundry and concrete sands

• Abrasives (e.g. silicium carbide)

• Chemical intermediate products (e.g. aluminium hydroxide)

• Screen or filter pre-coat layers (recovered from the own coarse fraction)
